A Hero’s Journey Through the Microcosm of the Human Body

The Universe In Me

One Moment. One journey. The universe within.

Ayanda stands alone as the whole congregation prostrates and the Yummies fall
Ayanda refuses. Chapter Two: Enough Is Enough.

Ayanda is a Myocyte, a hard-working muscle cell in the Big Toe, bred to blindly follow commands and live for “The Yummies,” the addictive chemical rewards doled out by an unseen authority. But while her people gleefully consume, their neighbours, the Keratinocytes, are being decimated by a fungal scourge fuelled by the body’s systemic gluttony.

Realising that this reward system is a trap designed to keep them docile, detached, and enslaved, Ayanda does the unthinkable: she refuses to contract, breaking her biological programming.

Her defiance sparks an epic quest to find the “Source” and demand the truth. She is joined by an unlikely party of microscopic adventurers: Swift, a lightning-fast Action Potential from Brain City who abandons his “official” mission to discover his sovereign identity; Tare, a timid cartilage cell who must overcome a self-made prison of shame to unlock his heroism and fortitude; and Wollumbin, an ancient stem cell wielding the deep, energetic wisdom of the Earth.

Together, they must traverse the treacherous and breathtaking landscapes of the human organism.

Part One is open to all. The deeper chambers are still forming…
